Why did Irrfan Khan not want to work with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Jazbaa?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan might have completed the first schedule of Sanjay Gupta’s upcoming film, Jazbaa, but if a recent grapevine is to be believed then Irrfan Khan, who also stars in the film was quite hesitant to work with the former Miss World. Why? Because The Lunchbox actor was concerned that she might bring her superstar baggage to the set. In fact, word also has it that it required a lot of convincing from Gupta and a heavy paycheck to change Irrfan’s mind.

However, when Irrfan finally came on-board and worked with the Guzaarishactress, he realised that Aishwarya is in fact playing her part intelligently and not burdening the film with her image. So the bottom line is that Khan was mighty impressed with Aishwarya’s surprising lack of starry tantrums.

That’s not all. Irrfan even went on to compare Aishwarya to his A Mighty Heart co-star Angelina Jolie, who according to him was “stronger and more heroic than the role required her to be”. He said that Jolie’s strong off-screen personality came in the way of her portraying the character’s vulnerability. But he was happy to see that it’s a mistake that Aishwarya is taking care not to make.

Well, now that Irrfan is heavily impressed with Aishwarya, I can’t wait to see how the film turn out to be. And considering she will be seen on the screen after a long time, there is already a lot of  excitement to see her on the celluloid.
