Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj’s assistant Abhishek Chaubey, 'Udta Punjab' revolves around drug mafia and drug abuse in Punjab. It casts Shahid Kapoor in a role that will test his mettle as an actor. “UDTA PUNJAB takes off . This ones special . Wish us luck guys . It's a tough tough film . We need your love.” Shahid Kapoor tweeted. When Shahid Kapoor felt himself inadequate as an actor The film has Shahid pairing with his former girlfriend Kareena Kapoor again after ‘Jab We Met’. Alia Bhatt plays an important role in the movie. Shahid Kapoor’s next release will be Shaandaar with Alia Bhatt. The film is directed by Vikas Bahl of Queen fame.
